TEMPERAMENTS
Temperaments was born from the friendship and experience of trumpet player Mireia Farrés and Mercè Hervada over 20 years of duet.
The repertoire includes essential works for trumpet and piano by Honegger and Enesco, but also other works that the duet knows deeply from composers such as Hindemith, Peaslee, Bolter, Turrin, and Ewazen. Of note is the inclusion of the work "Impuls Vital," a commission to the Catalan composer Salvador Brotons.
With this album and collection of pieces, the duet wants to highlight their interpretive variety and uniqueness and connect with four elements that they share in some way and define them: fire, air, water, and earth. In relation to these four elements, the album's booklet is complemented with an original poem by Manuel Forcano inspired by the music of Temperaments, a collaboration that responds to the preferences of the performers for Forcano's poetry. The photographs of the album, also closely inspired by the four elements that the performers want to highlight, are signed by photographer Noemí Elías.
The recording was in the hands of the renowned English producer Simon Kiln in July 2019, at the Sala Oriol Martorell of L'Auditori de Barcelona.
